Hello, I’m Valerie aka Knitting in Pink. I’ve been knitting for a little over 3 years but have been sewing off an on for about 15 years. I started sewing more intensively about a year ago after finding a really nice quilt shop and buying a good sewing machine. Since then I’ve taken a couple quilting classes and worked on a few quilts and other sewing projects.

My favorite designers are Denyse Schmidt and Heather Ross. I had the chance, a few weeks ago to go to Denyse Schmidt’s improvisational patchwork workshop in Bridgeport, CT. It was awesome being able to meet her and spend most of a day with her. She’s an amazing woman and so incredibly talented! I quite like Tina Givens’ prints and have chosen some of her Chloe’s Imagination collection for my fabrics for the month of May’s blocks. They’re really colorful, so I hope you’ll enjoy working with them!

I haven’t decided yet if I want to have you do wonky log cabin quilt blocks or string blocks, but I’ll let you all know shortly.

I’m thrilled to be part of this virtual quilting bee. I already “know” some of you but I look forward to getting to know all the others. Thank you Megan for letting me organize this with you!

I look forward to learning more about each of you!
